The brain is likely the most poorly understood organ in the body. It is so crucial though to how we define ourselves and how others perceive us. When an organ such as the pancreas is out of balance the body may suffer but it doesn’t change how we feel about others, our surroundings, our reasons for getting out of bed in the morning and ultimately self.

These are just the common ones. There are even more reasons that brain health is decreased than there are mental disorders. You may be saying, “I don’t have a mental disorder but I just don’t feel as good as I used to.” Now is the time to make corrections. Why, because the brain is self-correcting. The brain interprets or filters signals from the body’s peripheral nervous system. Once it does this it forms a pattern that it then uses to operate from to save resources by placing things under a type of “auto-pilot” operation. However, these patterns become ingrained and then become more difficult to correct. The functional pattern can be broken but it takes much more time and effort in these long-standing situations.
